Hi,

My name is Sammy and I’m not an official GRRCC dog yet, but I sure would like to be since I know that’s what needs to happen before I can find my new Forever Home! I am currently living with my original family who has had me since I was a little bitty puppy but they can’t keep me anymore. You see, I live in my house with another female Golden Retriever and we really just don’t like each other very much. We are both what are called dominant females and we both want to be The Gal in Charge. Our parents have made this work for a long time but now that they have a young two legged ‘puppy’, it’s just too hard anymore. Unfortunately there is only room for one Queen in our castle (just ask that lady in England that wears the funny hats and she’ll tell you the same thing!). My owners think it would be easier to re-home me because I am at a PERFECT age, rather than their other dog because she is 9 years old (I call her an old lady and she doesn’t like that very much!). I am really, really great with people…in fact, I love them and I’m also really great with the human ‘puppy’. My parents say I am ok with some other dogs as well, just not my housemate dog. I am completely housetrained and can be trusted loose n the house when you’re gone. You see, I am just a great girl that has a personality conflict with my roommate…it sometimes happens even in the ‘best of families’J . If you ever had a roomie you didn’t like then you know it just isn’t any f9n at all!

So what I need is a foster home without any other dogs. Although I might be OK in a Forever Home with a laid back male dog, we’re not sure of that yet so that is one thing my new foster home would be checking out by introducing me to other nice dogs. I haven’t ever been around a kitty so I can’t say for sure what I would do it there was one in my house. Like I said, I am pretty much in ‘move in condition’ as long as I can be an Only Child. As you can see from my pictures, I am a happy, happy girl with a great smile to share with everyone. You’ll notice in the rest of my pictures that I seem to have lost all my beautiful hair (er, fur)!. That’s because my owners had me shaved. Even though that’s not a good thing to do to a Golden, they felt that two long haired dogs that were shedding was not a good combination with their human puppy. I look quite a bit like a Labrador Retriever right now….Don’t get me wrong…. I love labs…after all, they’re Retrievers just like me, it’s just that a Golden Girl should have a more luxurious ‘coiffure’. Fortunately, like everyone who has ever had a Bad Hair Day, my coat will come back and I’ll look exactly like the beautiful (if I do say so myself) Golden in my cover picture!

So, I sure hope somebody out there that is reading this can be my foster mom or dad. I promise to be a really, really good girl. Think of it this way…if there are no other furry family members around, that means I’ll have you all to myself and vice versa…that sounds pretty close to heavenly to me.

I hope to hear from you REALLY soon!!!

Love,

Sammy
