Sandy Belle Case

It makes us very sad to announce that one of our Goldens, listed under Happy Endings on the GRRCC web-site, has left us after a very short battle with Lymphoma.  Sandy Belle Case was brought to GRRCC in early 2001 with severe hip dysplasia by her owner, who knew she could not provide the care that Sandy would require.  Although very scared and somewhat aggressive from her pain, Sandy quickly became one of the most loving, gentle and attentive Goldens this family has ever known.  She and her friend Beau recovered together following their hip surgeries, and became the very best of friends; he misses her deeply, as do we all.

A tremendous effort was made by all club members when Sandy first arrived; considerable soul searching by the board and a large scale fundraiser provided the two hips that Sandy needed.  Our family wishes that everyone who helped Sandy could have had an opportunity to see how happy she had become, how agile, how quick, and how energetic.  Even on her last night with us, weak as she was, Sandy found the energy to chase a moth through the house.  With a little help from her mom, she was able to finally catch it before she lay down for her last night together with us. Sandy passed away on August 2nd, 2005.

In honor of Sandy, we have created a web site (www.welovegoldens.com) which shows some of her finer moments, as well as moments with other Golden family members.  If you have high speed access, you may also enjoy seeing a video of Sandy and Beau playing together in the snow.

We wish to thank everyone at GRRCC for providing our family with the opportunity to know Sandy Belle, and for providing her with the care she needed to become an extraordinarily happy Golden.
